Cut from 11 Oz Japanese serge, this tough, heavyweight version of our traditional Western shirt embraces the fabric's military associations. Serge fabrics are defined by a sturdy, ridged twill weave and are renowned for their strength and durability. They are commonly found in historical military uniforms and apparel. While developing this particular serge, Shinichi Haraki found inspiration in the fabric of the classic French M-47 cargo pants from the 1950s — a high-density cotton serge that is hefty, rugged, and comfortable enough for everyday wear.
