Taking inspiration from the classic US Navy deck jackets of the 1940s, our reimagining of the N1 has become a signature piece for Iron Heart. For Fall/Winter ’25, we have expanded the range with a new lightweight model. We've replaced the heavy wool insulation and quilted sleeves with a much lighter, weather-resistant Japanese Ventile cotton lining to slim the jacket down and enhance breathability.
Another key difference between this lightweight jacket and our heavier models is the fabric used in its construction. While this model is still cut from tough 12 oz. whipcord, the yarns of this particular 'jungle cloth' are sulphur-dyed. Unlike the fade-resistant, reactive-dyed whipcord used for our traditional N1, this fabric is designed to fade with wear and washing, developing a vintage-style patina over time. The jacket is finished with a corduroy-lined collar that contrasts with the whipcord, offering classic N1 styling at the perfect weight for the transitioning seasons.
