Iron Heart introduces a new chore jacket cut, blending practicality with contemporary style. This chore jacket have a more versatile pocket layout than previous Iron Heart coveralls and a slimmer, more flattering silhouette. Key features of this updated design include flapless chest pockets with pen holders inspired by our signature work shirts and large flap-down waist pockets that double as side-entry hand warmers.
This jacket is not for the faint of heart, as it’s made of heavyweight, 20-ounce, paraffin-coated Japanese duck canvas. If you’re familiar with our popular 17 oz. duck canvas, then you know what to expect from this fabric: it's stiff, hard-wearing, and difficult to break in. Due to the tight plain weave and the enhanced durability and water resistance provided by the paraffin wax coating, we'd argue that this is our toughest fabric yet. However, this also makes it an incredibly stubborn fabric to work with. Certain seams must be hand-stitched when the fabric folds are too dense for our machines or when an attempt at stitching breaks a needle, which happens quite commonly. This time-consuming construction process means this model is available in limited quantities, and each jacket has subtle variations in stitching. Some even have visible scars where a needle broke.
